Main Focus:

 

  1. The Treatment Decisions During Pregnancy Study is a federally-funded research program focused upon understanding the treatment needs and preferences of depressed pregnant women, particularly those from low-income groups
  2. The project involves interviews with Spanish- and English-speaking women who have experienced depression during their current pregnancy
  3. No treatment is provided, but all women who participate are compensated and are provided with referral assistance, as needed.
  4. The goal of this research is to identify and reduce barriers to care for women who experience perinatal depression, and to inform the development of new treatments that are acceptable to pregnant women.
